I order to enhance the knowledge of the faculty Department of ECE organizing various programmmes. In this regard, a two day Training Programme on Mentor Graphics Tools was organized by the department for the benefit of both faculty and PG students. The programme was started with inaugural function and Dr.P. Ravindra Babu, Principal is the chief guest for the function and the others on the dais are Dr M.Kamaraju, Mentor (AS&A), Mr B.Nagendra, Application Engineer, Coreel Technologies, Hyderabad.
In his speech, Dr Dr.P. Ravindra Babu, emphasized about the role of VLSI technology and Dr M.Kamaraju has pointed in his speech that in Worldwide VLSI designer engineers, 25% are Indians which is proud to us. After the inaugural function, Mr B.Nagendra has started the theory session on “Introduction to Mentor Graphics tools” and lab session on “Pyxis schematic and ELDO simulator”
On the second day of the programme, Mr B.Nagendra, has started the lab session on “Layout entry using Pyxis Tool” and another lab session on “Introduction to Physical Design”. In this session he emphasized about the layout creation from schematic, power dissipation, delay, post layout simulation and RC extraction. Finally, he demonstrated physical verification using calibration tool.
